Who is responsible for teaching how to learn?

Simple. Yet not so simple things.

My feet hurt. Who helps me? At school kids learn about different community service providers as part of the Australian Curriculum.

I need help to cut my food. Who helps me? Maybe it was who was around at the time that help was needed – if the first time I am allowed to use a knife by myself it might be that I’m using… which knife? what am I cutting? am I safe to use knives in the first place?

Why do OT’s end up being the ones to teach how to tie shoelaces? Why isn’t this community accessible information given everyone usually wears shoes with laces? Why isn’t this provided inside the box on a pamphlet for kids shoes. Surely this is every day learning information and not some specialised list of steps????
