Supporting students within mainstream schools who are experiencing difficulties attending requires an understanding of the procedures involved in order to measure progress or to determine in advance when students may be at risk of an increase in aggressive or suicidal behaviours and when the family is at risk of being required to look after their student at home for a period of time, either due to suspension or whilst they search for alternative educational settings / opportunities.
