Its too hard

Skill progression is something that we are all required to learn how to do. It is self care. It is how we reduce reliance on others and are then able to take care of ourselves. But what happens when we can’t. When are don’t learn it. When we are still dependent on others.

What were the verbal or behavioural cues that communicated something was hard / difficult before the behaviour started to deteriorate? How do you let someone know that something is too hard? Is it a request for help? Is it a refusal? Is it openness to trying something new?
