Knowledge vs decision making

We like watching others learn whether that be on TV or in the movies or in real life. The understanding of how a relationship looks or how someone in a similar situation solved an issue is extremely helpful for us as individuals and allows us to pass on that information to help others. Yet what if there are strategies that are within our reach without us needing to learn ‘through’ others experiences so much simply because we had an understanding of how things were built in the first place. Being able to understand the pieces, how they fit together, what they are made up of, where they don’t fit together etc can be really helpful when faced with new situations that we haven’t experienced before. It can help us not feel like we are walking into something without a safety net because we know how to think or react immediately because we are able to ‘walk’ our way through it step by step to solve it with or without help. But. In doing so we can do that without being overwhelmed because we have a toolkit of strategies to work out how to solve it.

So the question becomes. How big is your tool kit?

And. Where do you get more information from to increase the size and depth of the tools that you have available to you?

Do you have access to a place / source of information where you feel comfortable to learn from? Do you have enough sources? Do you know how to find more sources? If not, why not? Is it a resource issue so that you need to learn more about resource management? Or is there a general lack of resources? Or is it a matter of lack of time? And if so, then do you need to learn some more time management strategies to help.
