Caring relationships

Burden of care can be a challenging concept to work with when there are limited resources and high intensive ongoing needs that are typically required to manage and cope with chronic conditions. Preventative strategies are essential to be embedded into the environment to support reduced overload and workload so that health is supported for all involved. No one individual should take on the full workload. Enabling those in the community to support chronic conditions requires additional training and ongoing support for working with such complexity when there are multiple diagnoses involved. Typical strategies do not always integrate so easily into daily life when there are multiple diagnoses to work through. Levels of experience of working with different diagnoses and levels of chronic health conditions helps support more stable working relationship.
