Movement in patterns

I’ve done this before. I haven’t done this before. Yet: have I learnt to move before? Have I ‘learnt’ how to navigate obstacles that I am unfamiliar with moving on / through / under etc? When does having learnt to walk or run or jump move into the skills necessary for learning a new sport by simply watching an instructor demonstrate it rather than needing hands on assistance to guide you through each of the steps? When does having enough movement skills enable someone to learn in a group rather than being taught individually? Yet why in some circumstances do people prefer to be taught by themselves or to have personalised instructions? Where is the benefit to how you learn to move? Why is it different to have ‘information’ tailored to you specifically as an individual rather than the instructions that were / are designed for the entire group? What is it that is different about your specific situation? Or the patterns in which your specific body moves?
