Drugs and Medication

The outcome of most sessions involves remedies. Water. Following your doctor’s recommendations for medicine. Spending time doing your favourite things. Exercising. Adding in time of day, who helps you and how many participants in a room alters the effectiveness of an instruction. Autism is complex. Treatment activities are complex. Integrating medication management is essential. Normal medicine helpers like learning to blow your nose, learning to drink enough, learning to eat for some medicines and drink for others, learning to drink liquid syrups versus chew tablets, learning to talk about your fears for over the counter drugs such as painkillers for sore back and sprained ankles, learning how to ask to see a doctor when your ears are blocked beyond what can be bought in the chemist / pharmacy.

How many of you expected reviews of your NDIS funds? Medication gets reviewed each time you see your doctor. Occupational Therapists make decisions on reviews EACH SESSION.

What is your preference? Persist through water. Use tablets til it goes away. Distract yourself.
