Integrating NDIS plans with Medicare permissible sessions needs to be constantly re-calculated over the course of the year based on what is happening and what is likely to happen for the individual and their family. Consider how many professionals are involved and where NDIS restricts funding to be used in certain ways based on the type of plan that has been allocated to you and the type of professionals it has been allocated to. Consider how many other resources are likely to be required by the family when using Medicare items to see whether the Medicare threshold will be reached which then has an impact on cashflow or use of savings.
Note that it is ok to not use funds that have been allocated to you when you consider them to be allocated incorrectly. Do not feel forced into using funding for specific programming that was allocated during the NDIS review if you do not consider it appropriate use for your family.
